Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the chest CT manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19), and to perform CT scoring and staging. Materials and Methods:Chest CT images of 104 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Shangrao were retrospectively analyzed, including lesion involvement range, distribution pattern, morphology and density, and semi-quantitative scoring of lesion involvement range. Results:The chest CT of 88 patients was abnormal, 74 patients(72%) involved two or more lung lobes, 60 patients(58%) had a peripheral distribution of disease. There were 29 patients(28%) who showed pure ground-glass, 53 patients(51%) demonstrated ground-glass and consolidation, the internal grid(32 patients, 31%) and thickened blood vessel were common(33 patients, 32%). Pleural effusion was seen in only two patients, and no cases were seen with cavitation and enlarged lymph nodes. CT scores were obtained for all patients,84 patients scored 5 or less, 16 patients(15%) scored 6-10, 4 patients(4%) scored 11-15, and none scored 16 or more. Conclusion:The chest CT of COVID-19 have some characteristic manifestations, and the CT semi-quantitative score is of great value in assessing the condition.
