A Clinical Case Analysis of CT/MRI Diagnosis of Brucella Spondylitis

    • This report describes a clinical case of Brucella spondylitis. Patients with Brucella spondylitis typically present with low back pain accompanied by fever. Computed tomography (CT) demonstrates destruction of the lumbar vertebral bodies, marginal osteophyte formation, and narrowing of the intervertebral disc spaces. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may reveal inflammatory edema of the vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs, swelling and abscess formation in adjacent paravertebral soft tissues, and epidural involvement. Analysis of these CT and MRI features can assist the radiologist in improving diagnostic accuracy and is of significant value for early clinical intervention.
