Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia: Clinical and Chest CT Findings

  • Objective:To analyze the chest CT manifestations of 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19), and to provide reference for early detection, diagnosis, isolation and treatment. Methods:The clinical data and chest CT findings of 8 patients with COVID-19 were analyzed retrospectively. The focused observations were on the density, size, shape, number and distribution of CT lesions. Results:The ground glass and partial ground glass shadow was found in 8 cases, which was mainly distributed in the lower lobes and peripheral areas of both lungs, which was accompanied by small vessel shadow thickening (n=8), fine mesh shadow (paving stone sign) (n=6), bronchi inflation sign (n=5), bronchi wall thickening (n=4), strip shadow (n=3). Two cases had consolidation of lower lobe of both lungs. In one patient, there was a small nodule and halo sign around. There was no pleural effusion or lymphadenopathy in 8 patients. Conclusion:CT findings of COVID-19 have certain characteristics. Chest CT plays an important role in early screening of patients.
